Written by Paul Overstreet and Scotty Emerick, the laid-back tune encourages listeners to escape their problems and enjoy the freedom of being by the coast. The song depicts the protagonist as a carefree individual who finds happiness fishing and enjoying the ocean. "Anchor Man" is Currington's second release of 2023 and follows his nostalgic song "City Don't." Currington is currently on tour with Jessie James Decker and the Eli Young Band.
