Country music star and ‘s  could have gone very differently! First of all, Blake was hiding the pricey diamond engagement ring in a very precarious spot and, secondly, Gwen almost cancelled her plans to be in Oklahoma! More below!

While appearing on radio program, Shelton opened up about popping the question!

“To be honest with you — and this is scary — I had the ring in the compartment on my door of my truck for about a week,” Shelton admitted. “I don’t know about you, but stuff falls out of that damn thing on my truck all the time. [When I was] digging in there looking for a flashlight or change, I kept thinking, ‘Man, somebody’s gonna hit the jackpot whenever I drop this thing out of my truck.’”

Fortunately, the ring didn’t get lost and he found the perfect moment to ask Gwen to marry him at his Oklahoma ranch while their families were together. The star wanted to make sure her three boys, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, were present as well as their extended relatives.

I wanted everybody to be there in the moment. I didn’t want to take her away or do something private away from the kids,” Shelton added.

As for everyone meeting up in Oklahoma in late October, that almost didn’t happen. While on , Gwen admitted that she wanted to cancel the trip due to COVID-19 concerns and how hard it is to get a group together.

Initially, the gathering was to show both sides of the family the house the pair are building in Oklahoma. This tour turned into so much more when Blake started making a fire in the fireplace and asked Gwen to find the fire starter in the cabinet. When she looked, she the engagement ring in a box!

Gwen says that she screamed and asked, “What, are you serious?”

“Then everybody came running around ’cause they heard us screaming and crying and so there was no video,” Stefani continued.
