*Warning* Article mentions baby loss and miscarriage
Kelsey Davis from Arizona gave birth to her new daughter Summer with eight-year-old Brooke by her side. The mum suffered three heartbreaking miscarriages in recent years so having her daughter there meant everything to her.
When Brooke was three, mum Kelsey shared the news with her that she was going to be a big sister.
Sadly Kelsey lost the baby, a little boy, just a few weeks later.
"Brooke was absolutely heartbroken," Kelsey wrote on Love What Matters.
"She cried so hard and didn't understand why."
Over the next four years, Kelsey went through another two miscarriages.
Kelsey fell pregnant again in 2015 and when she was far enough along, she decided to tell Brooke.
Thankfully the baby, a girl they named Ellie, was born in January of 2016. Brooke decided to stay in the room for the delivery and the sisters' bond was "immediately one of a kind," said Kelsey.
When Kelsey became pregnant again last year, Brooke knew she wanted to be more involved.
Her parents agreed and allowed her to join them again in the delivery room.
"I prepped Brooke by explaining the positioning, where she could place her hands, that the baby will be slippery, and that there will be a lot of blood, but that it is all normal.
